GICLÉE LIMITED EDITION PRINTS
ABOUT
GICLÉE REPRODUCTIONS
Giclée
(zhee-clay) fine art is produced with continuous ink jet technology on an
Iris-type printer. Four million tiny droplets of archival ink per second are deposited by four
calibrated
color streams on absorbent paper or canvas.
The expert printmaker and artist collaborate to oversee every detail of the reproduction
process.
The result is a magnificent display of color with the precise hue,
value, and density of the original art.
Giclées are shown in exhibitions
and purchased
for permanent collections in museums throughout the United States and
abroad. These include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim
and The Smithsonian.
