All of this painting is Vancouver Island. The Canoe races, the Eagle fishing, the Arbutus and the mountains. It’s much too beautiful to really claim as your own. There seems to be a real ancientness telling each soul that experiences the Island that it will be here long after they depart from this life. Even my ancestors knew of the power of the Island’s magnetic energy. It gets beneath your skin, and becomes you.
