Opalescence is a painting of swans and four chicks. This image was of a place where my mother used to take us swimming near Errington, north of Nanaimo, which is a beautiful place. It was basically representative of me and my mother, and two sisters and brother. Every spring, Bowen Park in Nanaimo, British Columbia, blooms with an array of colors from the wildflowers and fruit trees surrounding the rugged beauty preserved by Park Management. Swans, ducks, and a variety of wild birds return during this time to raise their young, which provides us with a glimpse of an experience that is different from our everyday life. I did this piece because I loved the colors of spring and how it reflects on the water. About the Original |
