Painted Stones

Painted Stones is a piece that I did from Pachena Bay near Tofino.

One year I was camping there and swam across from the island to a smaller island that was completely filled with beautiful vibrant coloured stones.

I collected a bunch and put them in my pocket then swam back and almost drowned.

I kept the stones, painted them all, and gave them away as gifts. I remember this beautiful July afternoon which was warm and the air smelt clean, and it was nice to get away from work and spend some time in the wilderness.
